You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Aviation Survival training Center (ASTC) of NAVMED OPER TRNG CENTER.
Duties
You will perform corrective maintenance on all device and systems using theory, test equipment.
You will utilize technical documentation to isolate the malfunctions of the system.
You will perform preventative, organizational, intermediate, and depot level, maintenance.
You will install and test naval air warfare center training systems.
You will Analyze an investigate existing electrical circuits, and air conditioning systems.

Qualifications
For GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized Experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experience. Examples of Qualifying Experience
- Experience operating characteristics and controls of the electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems of assigned engineering training devices, (i.e. performing pre-operational checks against specifications to determine proper operating condition of devices; operating the devices in a prescribed manner or during training sessions such as manipulating control valves, switches, etc., in the proper sequences at specific rates and times; and recognizing/taking appropriate action when a malfunction occurs during training operations, to avoid endangering the lives of trainees and/or additional damages to equipment);
- Experience performing detailed testing utilizing test equipment and tools to isolate malfunctions and ensure device performance is within specified tolerances after maintenance and repairs have been completed;
- Experience utilizing theories of solid state electronics, electrical and digital circuitry, mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems sufficient to calibrate and align the systems to specified tolerances; troubleshoot and correct malfunctions that occur; and disassemble/reassemble for rework of system;
- Experience using engineering devices/applications/machines such as a microcomputer, (to create reports using standard electronic word processor and database software; accessing device technical information and drawings using appropriate engineering software, (e.g. NAWCTSD Aviation Survival Training Electronic Resource (ASTER) program and Image R software), to include providing comments via appropriate electronic forms, (e.g. Technical Equipment Change Requests (TECR) affecting applicable devices; and utilizing electronic mail as an means to communicate with said appropriate engineering software, (e.g. NAWCTSD), on training device issues; AND
- Experience operating several training device simulators with numerous subsystems, (involving two or more engineering disciplines with the mechanical/electrical being paramount), with largely standardized configurations to support scheduled training.

Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
