About the Position: Serves as Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence (ACES) Chief, Concepts, Systems and Policy Division, with responsibility for planning and directing division operations. Reviews and interprets DOD directives, instructions and other regulatory documents from higher headquarters, and formulates implementing policies for Department of the Army HQDA G4 Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (DCSLOG).
Duties
Reviews and appraises division operations on a continuous basis through spot check of work in progress, review of completed work, and analysis of results obtained to assure maximum efficiency.
Performs personnel management and administration.
Develops performance standards and prepares performance appraisals. Approves leave and comp time requests and establishes leave schedules.
Assure day-to-day communication of information to ensure timely coordination of technically correct division assignments for mission accomplishment.
Participates in DA level food service conferences to review current operations and plans, for the future total Army food service program.
Plans division's work requirements and personnel needs.
Formulates division policies and procedures.
Provides technical guidance and advice to DA staff elements, ACOM's/ASCC?s, DRUs and installations on new or revised policies, and brings to the attention of the Director, major policy questions with appropriate recommendations for decisions.
Provides written and oral technical guidance and assistance to all echelons of the reserve component and active Army on current, new and revised DA food service policies and procedures.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as developing and integrating doctrinal and training products involving supply, maintenance, and transportation materiel requirements and capabilities at the tactical and operational level, identifying potential solutions to operational capability gaps, reviewing capability development documentation and logistics user requirements for materiel systems, identifying current and future materiel logistics and supportability capabilities needed, assisting with supportability documentation for materiel solutions and related doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities and policy (DOTMLPF-P) analyses on logistics supportability functional areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
