You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Business Operations Division (Code 1410), Naval Foundry and
Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will oversee the planning and execution of the designated NFPC manufacturing projects from the research and development phase through production.
You will prepare reports and coordinate the preparation, presentation and communication of project planning and production status to the supervisor.
You will lead assigned project management team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provide leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining what improvements can be made.
You will develop production project schedules in support of project requirements.
You will monitor project reviews, readjusting funds, schedules, scopes of work for assigned projects.
You will support all phases of acquisition including pre-award activities, contract surveillance, program support monitoring, assessment of new technologies programs and the industrial base.
You will review planned workload and staffing levels and advise NFPC leaders regarding distribution and appropriate staffing levels to improve efficient operations.
You will perform analysis of life cycle cost and schedule data for review of past performance, projecting future and developing strategic planning recommendations for NFPC.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing foundry engineering, manufacturing engineering, hydrodynamic principles, acoustic engineering concepts, and submarine propulsor design.
Experience managing complex projects and schedules that deal with propeller and propulsion projects.
Experience with concepts of both prototyping and large-scale 3D modeling.
Experience displaying effective communication in written and spoken formats with wide audience including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience demonstrating reading and understanding complex engineering and technical documents including but not limited to designs, specifications, drawings, diagrams, simulations, and technical instructions preferred.
