You will serve as a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist (Nuclear) in the Nuclear Quality Division, Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will analyze the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Division and create and direct the improvement methods necessary to advance existing quality assurance programs.
You will assign work to Branch employees and set work standards.
You will define quality assurance objectives and limitations of schedule and cost, and personnel resources.
You will coordinate work with other branches of the Nuclear Quality Division as well as across Nuclear Engineering and Planning Divisions and departments to ensure that responsibilities of the Nuclear Quality division are met.
You will keep the Nuclear Quality Division Head and Quality Assurance Director advised of changes in conditions, requirements or specifications that may need for further action by the Department or Command.
You will provide technical investigation and reports on the more difficult and complex quality assurance projects.
You will represent the Shipyard as necessary for conference with NAVSEA and other Naval Shipyards on the development of new quality assurance program efforts and requirements.
You will develop quality assurance training programs for the Command personnel.
Requirements

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading teams in developing and executing quality assurance audits and surveillance to identify and resolve problems, enhance quality performance, and identify areas for improvement.
