About the Position: Serves as training instructor and participates in course development. Responsible for both pre-instructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of missile electronics. Instructs on the theory, operation, function, troubleshooting procedures, checks adjustments, maintenance and repair of Eletronic systems and components repaired by Ordnance electronic maintenance occupations.
Duties
Develop lesson plans to maximize training resources.
Mentor and counsel students to exemplify standards of conduct and leadership.
Perform preventive maintenance to repair training equipment.
Present course materials using approved training aids.
Conduct instructor preparation prior to delivery of the lesson.
Provide hands on training to include realistic real time scenarios.
Counsel students when participation or results are not satisfactory.
Guide and direct the coordination and exchange of information.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction in the field of electronics such as, assisting in the development of training/course materials and aids, supervising or administering a training program, performing work in the field of electronics that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled such as, Electronic Engineering, Electronic Technology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
