You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Military Personnel Services Branch Casualty Section of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will initiate contact with surviving family members of deceased Marines, establishing cases and coordinating available services of government and non-government organizations. You will establish plan of action and ensures comprehensive long term survivor assistance services are provided through a coordinated community response. You will provide written documentation of survivor information and services provided in applicable databases (e.g., Defense Casualty Information Processing System). You will perform statistical/analytical work to include collecting, computing and analyzing statistical data for effectiveness of outreach and education programs. You will prepare survivor correspondence and command leadership briefs. You will coordinate with HQMC LTAP, facilitates the development and collaboration of public awareness campaigns to include events, outreach plans, etc.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, evaluating, and providing non-medical case management and information and referral services to eligible surviving family members of deceased military personnel. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
