The incumbent will be responsible to recommend sourcing solutions for a designated number of approved Joint Force Headquarters(JFQ) manning documents supporting the Joint Staff, Services, Department of Defense (DoD) Agencies and Combatant Commands (CCMDs).
Duties
The duty location for this position is Navy Support Activity, Hampton Roads, Norfolk Virginia.
As a Joint Individual Augmentation Specialist at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as a technical subject matter expert providing sourcing continuity and expertise regarding the development, formulation, negotiation, and implementation of military and civilian personnel solutions identified to fill emergent and rotational joint individual augmentation (JIA) requirements in Fourth Estate Manpower Tracking System (FTMS) or equivalent Service, Agency or CCMD system.
Conducts in-depth analysis of validated requirements in FMTS against Force Provider (FP) nominations to record qualified sourcing solutions or remediate discrepancies to meet specified arrival dates.
Provides vetted line-by-line details within Annex D of the Global Force Management Allocation Plan base order and modifications through a formal coordination process via LOGBOOK and Joint Staff Action Packages.
Gathers JFHQs and other unique headquarters (HQ) organizations' JIA revalidated requirements to quickly resolve contentious issues between the CCMDs and FPs.
Analyzes CCMD and FP risk assessments to develop feasible courses of action (COAs) for the Joint Staff senior leaders to recommend to the Chairman and the Secretary of Defense.
Researches and compiles relevant information, in spreadsheets, pivot tables and charts to produce executive-level (GO/FO/SES) briefs and reports on the sourcing status of JFHQ and other unique HQ organization joint manning documents.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Analyzes and provides recommendations on, Joint, Service or Agency individual augmentation or joint force manpower solutions to support daily campaigning, crisis and contingency operations.
Utilizes Joint, Service or Agency Manpower, Personnel or Logistics systems to program, plan, build, gain (activate and mobilize), and/or track movement of DoD Total Forces (Active Component, Reserve Component, and Civilians).
Applies knowledge of a Joint, Service, or Agency Individual Augmentation programs, their policies, responsibilities and applicability to personnel manning.
Develops and presents executive-level (GO/FO-SES-level) briefings, point papers, and other analytical products to inform and support senior leadership decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
