You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER in the Waterfront Operations Department (150), Contractor Material Management Division (158) of SUPSHIP. You will ensure responsibilities and those of subordinates assigned to specific projects are carried out.

Duties

You will coordinate the accomplishment of assigned tasks, anticipate issues in order to prevent costly delays, resolve problems affecting cost, scheduling and performance of contracts. You will ensure timely reporting of potential and actual slippage of contract schedules and maintains records on status of authorized and project work. You will maintain liaison with stakeholders to include ship and submarine program offices, SUPSHIPNN functional departments and the contractor. You will monitor shipyard strategic outsourcing to include the daily operations of various vendors who are building large structural units and components traditionally built in yard by HII-NNS work force. You will plan, coordinate and manage a variety of diverse projects relative to engineering and contract specification resolution. You will coordinate contract, engineering, quality, construction planning and execution and resolution of program management issues as related to material procurement. You will manage supply chain risk impacting shipyard outsourcing by identifying susceptibilities, vulnerabilities and threats from the supply chain thought SUPSHIPNN projects. You will develop mitigation strategies to combat those threats whether presented by a supplier, the supplied product or its subcomponents or the supply chain. You will administer the Command Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies for the Material Management Division. You will as supervisor plan and schedule work, review and evaluate performance, set performance standards, disciplines employees, counsel and resolves conflicts, approve/disapproves leave, provides training and award employees.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NJ-03 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading or controlling nuclear and propulsion projects to ensure conformance with contractual and technical specifications in support of Submarines and Aircraft Carriers.
