About the Position: Serves as Plans Officer for 4th Infantry Division located at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Duties
Serves as staff advisor to the SC, command group and staff on the integration of near-, mid-, and long-term plans and programs.
Responsible for integrating the full inputs of a diverse staff to create cogent planning documents in order to insure all plans are coordinated, synchronized, and integrated into Army, division, and garrison strategic plans.
Analyzes highly complex orders and translates them into plans and programs to provide direct support to Commanders in deployed and operational theaters.
Identifies requirements for policies, procedures and system support and Command and Control (C2) requirements.
Identifies and solves systemic mission planning problems and shortfalls by maintaining a continuous dialogue with other regional planners, MSCs, ACOMs, and COCOMs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent in this position is required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI access.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R or a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
- This position may require travel up to 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated experience 1) translating orders into plans and programs to provide direct support to Commanders in deployed and operational theaters, 2) identifying requirements for policies, procedures and system support, and 3) solving mission planning problems and shortfalls by maintaining a continuous dialogue with other regional planners.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
