About the Position: Serves as Deputy Director, an alter ego, who fully shares with the Director, Industrial Operations and Production Directorate the direction of all phases of the organizations program and work.
Duties
Responsible for the physical and financial management and operations.
Oversee and supervise activities directly related to the manufacture of weapons and/or other defense or non-defense items in prototype and production modes.
Supervise activities in support of manufacturing to produce tooling, gages, and fixtures.
Administer manufacturing procedures pertaining to equipment operation, maintenance and rehabilitation within manufacturing areas.
Promote and facilitate the implementation of quality management philosophies to achieve continuous improvement and increased product value.
Implement quality plan supporting continuous quality improvement and reduced costs to include procedures, analyses, corrective actions, and audits.
Determine work priorities/progress of work being accomplished, adequacy of planning and performance of personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
