About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Ft. Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Store munitions in accordance with plans and safety regulations. Operate one-half to five ton vehicles to and from work site to haul munitions. Issue munitions according to requisitions, ensuring first selection of older and smaller lots of stocks. Direct and help in loading and unloading trucks. Check incoming and outgoing shipping documents to verify correctness. Operate forklift capable of lifting 2,000 to 15,000 pounds.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • This position requires the employee to pass and maintain forklift-certification and driving test.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing.
  • Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program)
  • DA Form 7412 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions identified safety-sensitive under the Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration rules on drug and alcohol testing) requiring participation in random drug testing.
  • Lautenberg Amendment: This position may handle weapons or ammunition in performing evidence custodial duties.
  • Persons who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(91)).
  • Candidate who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not qualified for this position.
  • Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment (Title 18, U.S.C., section 1001).
  • Employee may be required to work shift work, irregular tour of duty, overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • May be recalled to duty from scheduled time off.
  • May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime on an on-call status.
  • Subject to a pre-employment and annual physical.
  • Screening and evaluation using DA Form 7708, PERSONNEL RELIABILITY SCREENING ANDEVALUATION, required in accordance with Army Regulation 190-11.

Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items. Working Conditions: Works continuously in, out and between magazines in all kinds of weather. Magazines are unheated. Frequently exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc.
