About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Support Operations at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Provide program oversight to assure timely operational support and integration of new logistical or changing concepts, developing methods and techniques required for program execution.
Perform on-going evaluation of LRC policy, plans, procedures, operations, equipment and support systems with the view toward improvements and make recommendations to commander.
Analyze mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current and long-range plans for accomplishment of assigned functions.
Oversee official travel movement and storage of soldier's and civilian's household goods, unaccompanied baggage, privately owned vehicles, unit and soldier movements, within, and out of the serviced area modes, and methods of transportation.
Prepare correspondence, briefings, plans, operations orders and fragmentary orders to support LRC operations.
Collaborate with multiple levels of officials, to include high ranking officials to provide authoritative advice and assistance on transportation programs and systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance to have access to classified information and attend classified meetings.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain on Official U.S. Passport.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time. May require travel Overseas.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience overseeing transportation programs to include personal property and freight movement, passenger travel, unit movement, shipping and receiving operations, rail/locomotive movements, and non-tactical vehicle fleet management; evaluating situation reports for improved logistics support of transportation programs; ensuring compliance with logistic support policies; and providing advice on transportation/traffic management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
