About the Position: Serve as the Chief, Bombs and Energetics Division and principal advisor to the Joint Munitions Command (JMC) senior leadership for independent analysis, and formulation of management options that are critical to the JMC missions. This position is located at Rock Island, IL
Duties
Independently plan, organize, direct and control projects, studies and programs having a direct and wide effect on the organizations mission.
Plan ammunition management analysis functions, sets priorities and establishes objectives to evaluate program accomplishments in relation to established goals, schedules and objectives.
Provide advice, counsel, and instruction to subordinates in order to accomplish the assigned mission.
Participate in the development, coordination, preparation of integrated plans, program/time phased schedules as well as analyzes, develops positions, and assembles specific information at major command status hearings
Support overall ammunition policy and operations for assigned mission by overseeing reform and improvement initiatives focused on improving ammunition readiness and enterprise performance.
Develop policies and procedures on life-cycle phases of conventional ammunition.
Evaluate overall performance of subordinate team leaders and counsel subordinates on career potential and opportunities.
Responsible for highly technical, complex administrative, and budgetary activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Advanced Level certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- This position requires a secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning overall ammunition work operations to include setting priorities and establishing objectives; Managing requirements planning, manufacturing operations, and world wide distribution operations; Coordinating all aspects of the ammunition program including production oversight, supply management, supply depot operations and transportation management.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
