About the Position: The incumbent serves as MICC, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations (DCS G-3/5/7) and is recognized as the principal assistant to Chief of Staff (CoS), in the management of day-to-day plans, operations, training, and readiness of the MICC.
This is a High Level NH-04 in the AcqDemo Pay banding scale. The NH pay band covers grades 14/15 on the GS scale. This position is not subject to a salary control point.
Duties
Plans and coordinates contingency and operational support requirements supporting the MICC?s activities across multiple geographical locations
Provide Train and Deployable Contract Support Brigade s(CSB) to the Operation Force.
Manage day to day plan, Operations, training, and readiness for MICC.
Utilize Independent Judgement, prerogative for program direction and emergency situations.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Managements (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Specialized Experience Statement (HR/SME): One year of specialized experience at the NH-03 or equivalent level, which includes Supervising plans and operations of Operational Contract Support, Contingency Exercises, management of day-to-day plans, Operations Orders, and operations and training and readiness. Must be able to plan and coordinate contingency and operational support requirements supporting activities across multiple
geographical locations. Ability to rearrange, reschedule, to meet emergency situations and to handle unprecedented situations, identifying and collect required resources. Reviewing effectiveness of planning and program objectives for a Command level organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service
(NH-03/GS-13).
