About the Position: This position is at the USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL, FT LIBERTY, NC.

Duties

Manages and oversees the IW Proponents daily operations, including mission requirements and administrative actions. Supervises and performs personnel management functions for the civilian staff and manages and mentors their professional development. Serves as the Deputy Director to Irregular Warfare Proponent managing the Proponent's doctrine literature publishing program. Formulates program development plans and establishes priorities and production efforts, planning and obtaining approval for projects and programs them into the Proponent?s literature production plan. Serves as the principal doctrine subject matter expert during literature production management reviews. Develops and implements policies and procedures in the production of doctrinal literature products, and in the integration, synchronization and incorporation of IW doctrine and concepts throughout the DOD.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Employee required to undergo Random Drug Testing under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program and shall be subject to periodic and random urinalysis drug testing as required by AR 600-85.
  • A one-year supervisory probation may be required unless previously completed.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • TDY may be 25% or less.

Experience with Irregular Warfare daily operations, including mission requirements and administrative actions such as leading staff, managing, and mentoring their professional development. Experience working with a doctrine literature publishing program leading all phases of the doctrine development process.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
