Duties

You will be responsible for customer interface, the definition of requirements, and the development of designs, plans, and specifications for facility projects requiring the independent application of background data. You will conduct on-site surveys of assigned base/installation facilities, identifying both short and long-range work requirements while considering the present and future mission of facility. You will conduct interviews with facility end users to determine and identify requirements, prior to proceeding with the development designs, plans, and specifications for facility projects. You will develop necessary design drawings or revise existing drawings. You will perform preliminary detailed cost estimates for portions of unconventional and difficult civil and military projects. You will perform all phases of the control inspection program. You will plan the layout and installation of moderately complex electrical equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • You will be required to lift and carry weights up to 44 lbs; however average weight varies between 15 and 44 pounds and is carried for short distances.
  • You will be required to have normal vision and hearing with or without corrective devices, depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors.
  • You may be recalled to duty.
  • You may be exposed to conditions of excessive dust, noise, asbestos, silica, fume, grease, oils, electrical energy, slippery or uneven walking surfaces and inclement weather.
  • You will be required to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, masks, hard hats, and safety shoes that are furnished.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialsized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing technical work related to inspecting, evaluating, repairing, modifying, improving, and operating an installation physical plant including: facilities, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
