Duties

You will be responsible for understanding concepts and desired outcomes from customers and turning them into executable projects. You will perform renovations and/or construction of new and/or existing facilities or components found on a military base. You will identify all key players of the project to include: customer, end user, contractor and Contract Officer Representative and others. You will gather all project requirements through sure surveys, communications, historical data, and Maximo history. You will evaluate projects to determine the most appropriate and economical approach to meet the project requirements for the facility. You will make or direct field surveys to investigate existing conditions of facilities and their assets. You will analyze needs, make calculations, establish material quantities and specifications, as well as equipment and systems which economically and efficiently meet the requirements. You will prepare original design, preliminary and final layout of buildings, floors, roofs, and landscaping including: size, space, capacity and economy. You will coordinate assignments with engineers responsible for other parts of the project to ensure proper integration of all associated systems. You will analyze contractor?s proposals for technical completeness and accuracy to complete the proposed project You will prepare detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding and bid evaluation. You will prepare working drawings and generate specifications and a Statement of Intent to comply with the scope, criteria, and project requirements.

Requirements

  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Writing and estimating task orders and providing technical solutions using knowledge of the industry's estimating, methods of work, and safety practices. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, applicants may also qualify for this position through education substitution. To qualify through education substitution you must possess: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
