You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will facilitate Critique Investigation and prepares the associated internal and off-yard reports and processes them through final distribution.
You will conduct or participate in Lifting and Handling Department Audits, Surveillances and studies presenting results/analysis to appropriate management
You will be the program oversight of specialized critical functions (e.g. Crane maintenance. planning, scheduling, inspection, testing, training, and operations; material and document control; deficiency reporting and Engineering).
You will conduct monitoring of Department via audits and surveillances to assure adherence to established policies and processes for Inspection, Testing, Engineering, Operations and all other areas targeted for observation.
You will manage record retention of various Divisions in the Lifting and Handling Department, including Quality Assurance, Inspection/Test, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and coordinating quality assurance program processes and procedures to include administering critiques, identifying operational or procedural deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to ensure procedures meet quality and certification requirements that support lifting and handling operations. Examples of qualifying experience: analyzing work operations; identifying flaws or discrepancies; using appropriate manuals, technical documents or standards to ensure conformance or compliance; and/or developing surveillance inspection and audit plans, such duties are performed in support of lifting and handling systems and equipment.
