About the Position: This position serves as Combat Development Specialist (Experimentation) for ARMY Futures & Concepts Center located in Ft. Benning, Georgia.
Duties
Conducting analysis of Maneuver proponent organizations, tactical doctrine, training, materiel or weapons systems, robotics and unmanned systems and new concepts.
Developing warfighting concepts and supporting the development of mission need statements and capability production documents.
Developing and conducting short term studies involving currently approved doctrinal techniques, and assisting in long-term conceptual doctrine, training and equipment studies.
Reviewing conceptual studies and developmental reports by other Army Futures Command (AFC) and Department of Defense Agencies.
Providing advice and assistance pertaining to Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF) requirements.
Providing live, virtual, constructive capability to support AFC/DA experimentation requirements.
Performs Experimentation In Support of Operational Capability Requirements.
Conducts Short Term Studies and provides developmental data compiled through computer simulations, limited objective experiments, and cost analysis.
Requirements

- Temporary Duty travel is required up to 40% of the time.
- Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Participating in research and preparing reports required to evaluate proposed revisions to Maneuver doctrine, alternative replacement items of equipment and/or weapons systems; 2) Participating in the development of experimentation based on projected required capabilities to provide solutions to battlefield deficiencies; and 3) Independently conducting analysis and research of special projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
