You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) in the Client Services Department of NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will utilize technical expertise with a variety of enterprise security tools (such as IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanning and patching/remediation, anti-virus, log management) to implement and maintain a host device in depth security posture.
You will apply strong technical background in Microsoft and desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Active Directory, and network monitoring to execute a security incident response program.
You will manage, develop, and implement Information Assurance (IA) programs to ensure that users,
and managers at all levels are aware of, understand, adhere to and enforce applicable security policies and procedures.
You will actively participate on the team that ensures continued operational availability of enterprise applications, systems, networks, and data to USNA customers.
You will respond to customer requests in a timely fashion resolving complex customer hardware,
operating systems, and associated software problems.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area technical support specialist level intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays if an emergent security situation arises.
- The employee may be required to work additional hours if an emergent security situation arises.
- The employee may be subject to recall when circumstances warrant.
- The employee must take applicable IA training and certifications and complete the annual IA refresher training as outlined in DoD 8570.1M.
Qualifications
For GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties:
1) Providing technical assistance in reviewing, evaluating, testing, and maintaining programs and translating and interpreting functional requirements. 2) Planning and scheduling the procurement and installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and application software.
3) providing onsite network support for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
4) Providing IT training and represent customer needs in contract discussions.

For GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties:
1) Protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and/or enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
2) Planning and delivering customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer IT requirement.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
