You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Command Support Group, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington (NAVFAC Washington) of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Duties
You will conduct Personnel Security interviews with job applicants, employees, and contractor personnel to acquire details related to information
associated with security clearance eligibility criteria.
You will identify Physical Security issues requiring action to designate the level of protection required.
You will analyze or interpret reports, rules, regulations, and procedures related to Personnel Security to resolve security issues.
You will develop, implement, or modify security policies, plans, or procedures for an organization.
You will administer comprehensive Information, Physical, Personnel, or Industrial security education programs for all activity personnel.
You will complete written assignments to support administration's security efforts.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
(1) Providing generalized security support to all activities including coordinating, scheduling and assisting security disciplines in complex operations;
(2) Evaluating, developing, implementing and managing the maintenance of security files;
(3) Initiating the process for Contractors to obtain Common Access Cards and experience with the contractor verification program and
(4) Assisting employees in completing background investigations to obtain eligibility for Federal employment
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
(1) Assisting with maintaining working liaisons and coordinating with local, state and federal law enforcement, security and intelligence to continually validate the current antiterrorism posture;
(2) Providing generalized security support to all activities including coordinating, scheduling and assisting security disciplines in complex operations which requires multi-faceted knowledge of a broad base of security programs such as Personnel Security, Physical Security, Information Security, Industrial Security and Operations Security;
(3) Developing portions of security plans for NAVFAC Washington;
(4) Adjudicating security clearance requests and
(5) Providing recommendations to higher level specialist on security issues

GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
GS-09:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
