About the Position: This position is located in the Fielded Force Integration Directorate, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Advise the MSCoE CG and Commandants on all aspects of force structure with emphasis on Engineer organizations and others supporting the Protection Warfighting Function. Evaluate MSCoE functional areas primarily related to Engineer and Protection capabilities in management analysis, system design and application, concepts, doctrine, Force Design Organization Papers and Tables of Organization and Equipment. Perform research in Engineer and Protection concepts, doctrine, force structure, planning factors, systems and/or procedures and the Maneuver Support aspects of contingency plans. Prepare briefings, attend conferences and represent MSCoE primarily regarding Engineer and Protection concepts, doctrine, force structure, organizations, systems, and procedures. Represent Engineer units in the Total Army Analysis process, ensuring accurate representation of their capabilities and employment. Develop and update products including Rules of Allocation, construction projects, and Class IV Planning Factors.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for this position.
  • Must be able to travel overnight with less than one week notice.
  • Must be able to operate a government sedan or rental car while traveling.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationRequirements AnalysisResearchTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
