You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) in the G-6 COMMUNICATIONS ELECTRONICS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will serve as the Subject Matter Specialist for non-secure internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) Asset Manager providing a full range of asset management and network engineering services.
You will ensure compliance with documented standards and approved equipment and software product lists.
You will review system changes and briefs management on scheduled or unscheduled equipment changes.
You will control classified equipment inventories, deployment, ownership, and maintenance.
You will provide support and technical solutions for special projects as determined by local G/6 in support of regional IT goals and future concepts of operations.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code D411 IT Asset Manager , proficiency level Basic the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires occasional work after normal duty hours to install new technology or correct user and network failures.
- You will be required o obtain and maintain an IAT Level II certification within 6 months of assignment to position, as required by DoDI 8570.1-M.
- You will be required o obtain and maintain an A +, Network +, and Security + certifications within 6 month of appointment.
- This position is subject to recall for outages, issues, and upgrades.
- You will be required to posses and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Implement standard operating procedures, software and controls to ensure appropriate levels of security.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Support end users to ensure effective use of information systems or other clinical systems; advise users concerning modifications of requirements to reduce anticipated technical problems.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Attend conferences, meetings, and seminars to exchange data and discuss technical issues; collaborate with representatives in other organizations to ensure an exchange of technical information, ideas, and procedures.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Troubleshoot abnormalities, restore operations and analyze problems; prepares systems change procedures to solve problems and improve computer applications.
In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector maintaining and managing accountability of architecture and infrastructure equipment including classified and unclassified assets, resource allocation, performing trend analysis, inventory control of hardware and software.

Education
Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience may qualify with education or a combination of experience and education as listed below. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
