DoDEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District operates 26 schools in 2 countries, 3 states, and one territory across 3 time zones. There are nearly 900,000 military connected children of all ages worldwide, of which more than 10,000 are enrolled in DoDEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District schools.
Duties
Enter purchase data into monthly purchase log for annual and random audit purposes.
Transcribe serial numbers or bar codes into the automated material management system for tracking and auditing purposes.
Prepare statistical budget reports for reporting purposes.
Verify all serial numbers upon receipt of goods.
Ensure accountable property is maintained by matching serial/tag numbers against hand receipts.
Turn in damaged or broken materials to be destroyed according to agency and installation policy.
Organize school fire safety efforts to ensure compliance with the school and local community.
Ensure school property holders comply with requirement to secure high value items when not in use or off school property.
Assist District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place.
Compile financial data to forecast the budget for supply replenishment.
Purchase supplies using a company or government purchase card.
Verify availability of supply funds and supply levels in case of emergency conditions.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: ordering and tracking supplies, maintaining inventory records and assisting with monitoring a purchase card program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
