You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & CYBER SECURITY of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as the principal office assistant, performing administrative and clerical duties in support of the work of a complex organization.
You will accurately type correspondence, reports or similar materials from handwritten or electronic drafts.
You will keep the supervisor's calendar and schedule appointments and meetings based on personal knowledge of workload and current issues, without prior approval from the supervisor.
You will maintain accurate time and attendance records.
You will maintain and accurately update file systems to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This may be a bargaining unit position.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience reviewing publications, directives, and other materials which may affect
the organization.
* Experience using standard office equipment to perform routine clerical and administrative functions.
* Experience working with substantive programs of all levels of the organization as they relate to the clerical and administrative functions of the office.
* Experience anticipating and preparing materials to meet the supervisor's needs.
* Experience using word processors, graphics, spreadsheets, and database management
systems.
* Experience using various computer software to produce a variety of reports, charts, graphs, and other required materials.
