You will serve as a Secretary (OA) in the Radiological Control Office (Code 105) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
2023 Salary Range: $58,172.00 to $75,628.00 Per Year
2024 Salary Range: $61,333.00 to $79,731.00 Per Year
Duties
You will prepare and review correspondence, reports, and other documents.
You will accurately type correspondence, reports or similar materials from handwritten or electronic drafts.
You will accurately compose nontechnical correspondence on topics such as office procedures, requests for information, and letters of acknowledgment, commendation or notification.
You will maintain calendar and appointments and meetings based on personal knowledge of workload and current issues, without prior approval from the supervisor.
You will remind supervisor and others of scheduled events to ensure prompt and timely attendance.
You will receive visitors and phone calls.
You will use a variety of office automation software in support of the organization.
You will maintain accurate time and attendance records.
You will requisition office supplies, printing support, and related items.
You will perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience using computer software to produce a variety of reports, charts, graphs, and other required materials;
Experience determining the nature of requests and prioritizing contacts and issues needing staff attention, when receiving visitors and phone calls;
Experience reviewing publications, directives, and other materials which may affect the organization as well as determining appropriate follow-up actions;
Experience reading, processing, preparing, and reviewing correspondence, reports, and other documents.
