About the Position: Serve as an Operations Research Analyst responsible for wargaming analyses, scenario developments, data analyses, development of analytic tools, and modeling and simulation developments.
DB-04 pay band includes GS-14 Step 1 to GS-15 Step 10.
Duties
Analyze wargaming analytic tools, scenarios, models, and simulations.
Serve as study director and senior analyst for major studies.
Direct the daily efforts of a team, to include assignment of work and review of products.
Identify study scenarios and oversee the preparation of study plans and supporting analysis plans.
Identify contract requirements and prepare Statements of Work.
Support formulation and execution of the overall TRAC study program.
Requirements
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- A three year probationary period may be required.

For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research or related field degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 hours must be in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirements below:
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the DB-04 position, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower pay band or grade/level performing the following: 1) executing complex and major analytical studies, 2) experience developing and preparing high quality and comprehensive analytical reports, 3) knowledge of combat and support systems and operational concepts, and 4) experience directing and leading multi-disciplinary teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or grade/level position in the federal service (DB-03/GS-13).
