About the Position: Serves as a member of a study team responsible for performance of studies, development of requirements, and necessary support to accomplish operational effectiveness analyses (OEA), Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and other analyses for Army weapon systems.
DB-03 pay band includes GS-12 Step 1 through GS-14 Step 10. This position is targeting the lower end of the band.
Duties
Applying a broad range of experience to plan, develop, and coordinate requirements evaluation activities of spin-out systems, force development planning, systems analysis, and tests supporting analysis of current and proposed Army systems.
Researching, developing, planning and executing analytical methods to address new problem sets.
Developing documentation to communicate analyses, methods and best practices.
Coordinating tasks across geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary, and multi-agency teams.
Presenting results to multiple levels of Army leadership tailoring the materiel to address specific interests.
Requirements
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security clearance.
- The incumbent will be required to travel TDY approximately 25% of the time.
- A three year probationary period is required if requirement is not already met.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education AND experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for 1515 Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) applying analytical techniques and methods to plan, coordinate, and execute studies of systems and/or their sub-systems; 2) applying operations research methodology to analyze battlefield simulations models AND 3) developing evaluation requirements when testing proposed systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-02/GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education
