About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance
Duties
Perform standard, routine disassembly and assembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories.
Perform limited assembly of components and less complex modules such as compressors.
Perform visual, dimensional, and tactile checks of individual parts for foreign object damage, stress fractures, excessive wear, etc.
Assemble major components, assemblies, and/or dynamic balance rotor assemblies based on specified methods and procedures for each phase of work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo a physical examination initially, and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- This position may be subject to a one-year probationary period.
- Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
- This position requires a personnel security background check (Tier 1 โ Non-Sensitive, Low Risk).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Engine Repairer without more than normal supervision. I can 1) Perform routine aircraft engine assembly practices, 2) Use precision measuring devices, and 3) Interpret and use technical order, technical data, maintenance bulletins, or work requirements - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently handle objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. This worker is required to lift, reach, bend, walk, pull, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside shop areas having adequate light, ventilation, and safety controls. The worker is exposed to loud noise, to the possibility of injury from handling equipment or from moving parts. Dirt, dust, grease, and aircraft fluids are common in the workplace. They are exposed to oil, fuels, hydraulic fluids, solvents, and hazardous fluids and gases. They are exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, muscle strain. Various protective devices such as ear plugs, face shield, gloves, safety shoes, and safety glasses are used. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the position.
