About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation.
Duties
Serve as working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work.
Provide on the job training on processes and procedures to workers led.
Assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
Interpret work orders, technical data, and other specifications to assure compliance with work requirements and documentation of same.
Utilize tools, measuring devices, equipment, and machinery of the trade.
Requirements
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- This position requires a Personnel Security Background Check (Tier 1).
- TDY requirement: 5%
- This Position must pass a pre-appointment physical examination and meet establishedrequirements.

Ability to perform common Aircraft Engine Mechanic Leader tasks to include aircraft engine mechanic processes, test procedures, and inspection requirements to disassemble, repair, modify, and overhaul aircraft turbine engines. Utilizing tools, measuring devices, equipment, and machinery of the trade. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Stands, stoops and bends; frequently handles items and lifts assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Hoists, lifts, and/or other employees are available to handle heavy items.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside a well-lighted shop area. Frequently exposed to grease, noise and the possibility of cuts and abrasions from handling tools and parts. Stands on concrete floors for long periods of time. Required to wear and use appropriate safety equipment. Working conditions are considered in the evaluation of the job.
