About the Position: Serves as a Senior Equal Employment Specialist in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower & Reserve Affairs), as part of the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and Programs Directorate. Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Responsible for managing one or more of the Special Emphasis Programs(SEPs) and/or the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) for the Army and special projects related to Army-wide Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs.
Plan, develop, coordinate, integrate, and oversee EEO projects and studies throughout Department of Army (DA).
Develop strategies, solutions and action plans to address under representation of select demographic populations; develops and disseminates information on project progress.
Develop position papers and information papers addressing new concepts and plans.
Study and evaluates new and complex legislation, public laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to EEO; and determines the impact upon HQDA EEO programs and resources; and recommends changes, expansion or revisions.
Establish and maintain contacts with all US Army Commands, other HQDA elements, DoD, EEOC, national civil rights organizations and professional consultants.
Lead studies and projects including development of methods for measuring program success and achievement of objectives.
Presents written and oral results and recommendations to enhance and facilitate the management decision-making process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes manage organization's employment policies, procedures, or guidance related to Equal Employment Opportunity; establish Equal Employment Opportunity program goals/objectives and track progress towards meeting goals; and oversee Equal Employment Opportunity projects/studies to support leadership's decision-making process.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
