The Program Support Assistant, GS-0303-06, provides support to the Anesthesia and Physical Medicine Service consisting of the Service Chief, Deputy Chief, Section Chiefs, Supervisors and Administrative Officer across 6 Sites: Lake Nona, Lake Baldwin, Deltona, Viera Daytona and Clermont. The work consists of duties utilizing administrative and technical skills, positive communication skills with internal and external customers and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Duties

Major duties include but aren't limited to: Serve as front-line point of contact for Service employees, providing essential tools and resources. Perform a variety of administrative duties such as typing, copying, faxing, filing, and tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed by the office. Responsible for data collection, storage, maintenance and reporting data. Understand, interpret, and implement effective communication strategies with the interdisciplinary teams across different service lines and facilities. Assist clinical management in the hiring process when required. Maintain tracking of provider Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) / Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) to ensure timely compliance. Manage the database for all telework eligible employees. Serve as Medical Records Liaison for the Service and be responsible for creating, maintaining, and disposing of employee files. Serve as the liaison with Personnel Security Office. Work Schedule: 8:00Am - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/21/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: serve as front-line point of contact for Service employees; use MS Word, Excel, and Power Point to prepare documents, develop and change spreadsheets; file, type, enter data, maintain records, take shorthand, and use and complete forms; understand, interpret, and implement effective communication strategies work with clients and customers to assess their needs, and provide information or assistance; serve as Medical Records Liaison for Service; serve as the liaison with Personnel Security Office. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Analysis and Problem SolvingClericalCustomer ServiceInterpersonal Skills Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position are consistent with specialty administrative tasks. The Program Support Assistant primarily performs sedentary work at a desk with a telephone and a computer. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, files and pushing of carts may be involved. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
