About the Position: This position is located in San Antonio, Texas with the Defense Health Agency Network Central team.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Advanced leave accrual may be authorized.

Duties
Provides definitive guidance as the expert on clinical Staff credentialing, privileging and adverse actions.
Reviews completed staff actions and studies, expressing conclusions and recommendations that serve as a guide to higher officials.
Assists in claim reviews and/or action appeals board processes.
Researches published credentialing standards and methodologies to implement improvements.
Monitors implementation of Agency policies and procedures.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) advising on credentialing and/or privileging requirements; 2) researching requirements of credentialing and/or privileging within a medical environment; AND 3) consolidating information for credentialing determinations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
