About the Position: This position is located in San Antonio, Texas with the Network Central team as part of the Defense Health Agency.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties
Reviews completed staff actions and studies, expressing conclusions and recommendations that serve as a guide to higher officials.
Provides definitive guidance as the expert on clinical Staff credentialing, privileging and adverse actions.
Advises senior leaders on clinical regulatory issues.
Identifies resolution for clinical and/or safety issues impacting client care.
Develops credentialing and privileging procedures for the network of medical facilities.
Assists in claim reviews and/or action appeals board processes.
Evaluates the quality of patient care, determining the appropriateness of deviations from recognized standards of care.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Up to 10% Business Travel required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing medical quality programs and/or overseeing healthcare operational optimization; 2) advising on credentialing and/or privileging requirements of medical professionals; 3) researching requirements of credentialing and/or privileging within a medical environment; AND 4) conducting credentialing reviews or consolidating information for credentialing determinations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
