Duties
Serves as a regional petroleum logistics operations, planning, and intelligence analyst within the DLA Energy Plans and Operations Division.
Provides comprehensive regional assessments and reports of a designated theater of operations by reviewing information related to logistic operations for military operations and exercises.
Performs analysis on fuel stock data in the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and recommends revisions to stock levels to enhance DLA Energy ability to support DoD requirements.
Leads or participates as a technical expert, in interagency study groups to resolve problems existing in petroleum logistics management which require innovative solutions.
Prepare briefings to advise customers, top level DOD logistic managers, and senior DLA Leadership concerning overall operational plans and proposals.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Researches and performs analyses to determine availability of fuel to support operations or potential contingency operations.
Prepares briefings and reports related to petroleum logistics management in order to advise top level management and leaders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: The work generally does not entail special physical demands and is mostly accomplished while the employee is seated at a desk or table. However, OCONUS travel to austere and physically demanding locations is sometimes required. The employee is required to use a personal computer to accomplish work assignments. Some walking, standing and traveling is required. Items carried are usually light but may be moderately heavy.
Work Environment: Except during travel, work is generally performed in an office environment. Normal safety precautions are required in the operation of various types of office machines and personal computers. Occasional trips to fuel operations sites in the assigned region are necessary.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
