About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, Army Reserve G-1, Services and Support Division, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the primary Prevention Integrator with primary responsibility of integrating primary prevention, overseeing, planning, and evaluating the U.S. Army Reserve's (USAR) primary prevention efforts pertaining to substance abuse behavior.
Analyze primary prevention in the functional area of substance abuse to better inform staff principal's identification of key policy and planning issues that impact the effectiveness and/or efficiency of USAR's processes in prevention.
Analyze data to recommend improvement on data related to substance abuse behavior.
Establish outcome-based strategic goals that support primary prevention of high risk behaviors.
Outline objectives to prevent and minimize high-risk behaviors, notably substance abuse behaviors.
Provide consultation to line and staff personnel regarding the development and implementation of strategies designed to decrease and eliminate substance abuse behaviors.
Analyze specific issues that could impact USAR responsibilities, ensuring consistency and coordination amongst the applicable directorates.
Collaborate with other USAR prevention integrators and stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate cross-cutting primary prevention activities.
Establish interactive and engaging training courses in order to ensure a broader understanding of primary prevention methods, techniques, and activities pertaining to substance abuse.
Develop strategic messaging and partners with entities to widely disseminate information, training strategies, and evaluation results.

Basic Requirement:
A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as behavioral or social science; or related disciplines (public health, social work, sociology, psychology, anthropology and social service).

B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
Managing a military prevention program such as Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP);
Writing policy guidance and reporting procedures for use by prevention professionals with a focus on substance abuse prevention programs;
Developing plans to facilitate a primary prevention initiative;
Analyzing primary prevention programs to identify key policy and planning issues that impact the effectiveness and/or efficiency of the programs processes in prevention; and
Establishing and tracking milestones and critical events for the substance abuse prevention initiatives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Education
