About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, G-1, Services and Support Division located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the senior Prevention Program Manager for the United States Army Reserve, G-1.
Formulate policies, program objectives, science and research, operations, evaluations and resource management to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all prevention management for Army reserve Personal Readiness.
Create information papers and official reports with recommendation for decisions by senior Army Reserve leadership which affect Prevention policies and programs.
Maintain expertise with current literature in epidemiology, behavioral science, sexual harassment, sexual assault, suicide, substance abuse and health promotion for Prevention Program Management.
Develop partnerships with DoD and other agencies, and academia directed at USAR Prevention Program Management.
Serve as the USARC representative to prevention program committees, as well as the spokesperson through membership and attendance at national conferences and meetings.
Responsible for USAR prevention programs and Major Subordinate Command compliance and ensure program goals and objectives meet DoD directives and public laws.
Conduct Prevention Program management needs-assessments, program analysis and program evaluation.
Provide supervisory oversight while coordinating and overseeing the work required to develop Prevention Program Management products and services.
Integrate new findings from research into current work and into the development of plans for future.

Basic Requirement:
A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as behavioral or social science; or related disciplines (social workers, psychologist, counselors and social service managers).

B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes creating, reviewing and maintaining policies, procedures and strategic plans for prevention programs; proficiency in area of operations to include staff work and staff process; monitoring prevention programs compliance; leading expert in one of the Integrated Prevention fields in a Department of Defense Agency such as USARC; establishing partnership agreements and Memorandums of Understandings with federal and non-federal agencies to include colleges and universities; performing prevention program needs-assessments, and program analysis and program evaluation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
