About the Position: Serves as the point of contact within the Directorate of Human Resources (DOHR) for military personnel support for the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) performing a wide variety to interrelated and/or non-standard human resources support work.
Duties
Coordinates personnel actions using various electronic system formats in support of U.S. military personnel.
Processes semi-centralized promotions and coordinates finance actions.
Processes retirements, release from active duty (REFRAD) packets, curtailments, deferments, deletions, discharges, extensions, reassignments including intra-post transfers, resignations and stabilization documents/packets.
Conducts in/out processing of personnel.
Processes awards and decorations.
Records and monitors ordinary and emergency leaves, and permissive temporary duty (PTDY).
Answers internal and external inquiries and customer complaints made through phone calls, electronic mail, or visits.
Obtains signatures for the monthly IPPS-A strength reports.
Provides instruction or makes presentations on human resources related issues for the Officer and Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Programs (OPD and NCOPD).
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized and Other Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
To qualify for the GS-07 level one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service includes 1) Identifying discrepancies regarding information contained in a military personnel automated database system; 2) Initiating requests for orders for intra-station assignments, reassignments, appointments and/or details for military personnel; 3) Processing awards and decorations for U.S. military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Typing Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-06. To be referred, applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and qualification requirements within 30 days from the date the referral list is issued.
Education
