About the Position: Performing leader and technical work supporting one or more military personnel programs, operations, or functions such as Enlisted Personnel Manning, Contingency/Mobilization Operations Support, Installation Casualty Services, Soldier Actions, Reassignments, Retirements/Transition Services.
Duties
Establish workflow and functional assignments and distribute work to meet demands.
Manage Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) team operations to ensure objectives are met by means such as team member notification, coordinating facility use, and unit arrival and demobilization processing.
Perform and/or validate all tasks associated with military personnel support to students and trainees.
Complete reassignment processing and support unique Initial Entry Training (IET) and student programs.
Perform personnel reassignment processing. Conduct briefings to review individual eligibility for reassignment, counsel individuals, prepare orders, and process deletion/deferment requests.
Coordinate with higher headquarters and other installations to resolve processing and data accuracy problems.
Requirements

- Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel in military and commercial aircraft and vehicles.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience with military personnel actions such as processing Soldier actions, Military Personnel Records Management, Reassignments and Retirements/Transition Services, In/Out processing, Separations, and (2) experience utilizing automated military personnel systems such as the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A), Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (IPERMS), Transition Processing (TRANSPROC), Electronic Military Personnel Office (eMILPO), and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), to process actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
