Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
The duty station of these positions will be assigned at the time of a job offer, and pay will be set in accordance with the duty station. Any on-site requirements will be determined by the duty station assigned upon selection.
Duties
Provides internal control project management oversight for site level Force Protection offices
Serves as a senior consultant identifying and documenting program processes, establishing internal controls, and evaluating the effectiveness of controls in mitigating process risk.
Develops internal control and operating procedures and analyzes and evaluates their effectiveness, adequacy, and interrelationships internally and with other related programs.
Employ ingenuity and originality in developing new or improved techniques for obtaining effective results and overcoming unusual problems where guidelines and precedents are lacking.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience Is Defined As:
Providing technical analysis, review, and recommendations related to project management plans, goals, objectives, outcomes, schedules, and risks for the Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC).
Experience Must Include: Identifying and documenting program processes, evaluating the effectiveness of controls in mitigating process risk, developing internal control and operating procedures and analyzes and evaluates their effectiveness, adequacy, and interrelationships internally and with other related programs, and resolving problems, establishes priorities, and measures and creates new policies, procedures, and methods for work accomplishments.
Volunteer Experience:
Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher. Employment in this position requires a background investigation which may delay starting date.
