This position is part of the Department of Energy, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of the Deputy CIO for Architecture, Engineering, Technology and Innovation, Enterprise Strategy and Architecture Office. As a Supervisory IT Specialist (ENTARCH), you will provide leadership and management for the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture Office as well as lead the development and maintenance of the Department's Enterprise Architecture framework.

- First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.
- A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
- This position has been designated as CRITICAL-SENSITIVE and requires a security clearance at the "Q" Level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
- This position is NOT included in a Bargaining Unit.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Managing multi-year information technology (IT) initiatives that require input from IT staff who are geographically dispersed.
Ensuring work efforts achieve desired results as specified within an organization's IT Strategy, to include appropriate strategic, life cycle management, or capital IT investment plans.
Directing staff in IT program functions such as product selection, cost schedule management, risk management, quality management, or resource allocations.
Providing supervisory direction to a diverse staff engaged in enterprise architecture activities.
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-15 grade level.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
