This position is part of the Department of Energy, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Infrastructure Operations Office. As an Information Technology Specialist, you will serve as a coordinator of information technology projects, ensuring schedule, implementation and communication issues are managed appropriately.
Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist, you will:
Coordinate information technology projects by managing schedules and communication; develop project plans for completion.
Responsible for implementing systems and project management techniques for projects; coordinating customer approvals.
Oversee the application and service delivery process for various projects.
Collaborate with the security team to ensure system and software meet requirements; liaise with various stakeholders to ensure suitability.
Requirements

- You are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive BranchPersonnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of entering the position and annually.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Some hiring incentives may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate based on budget availability and in accordance with federal regulations.

- This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but not less than 2 days perpayperiod.
- This position requires a current and valid Information Technology Project Management Certificate at the time of application.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. In addition to meeting the basic requiement above, candidates must possess the specialized experience below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting all of the following:
Implementing project management methods in information technology projects, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
Managing the requirement gathering process and deployment of applications.
Using service delivery methodologies to provide information technology capabilities to Department of Energy programs.
Using application management and cyber security for system compliance.
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-14 grade level.
CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as scoring in the in Well Qualified category (or higher).
