The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Training Technician, performing education and training work associated with the facilitation of in-house and special program training. Work includes registration, customer service, scheduling, data entry and administrative in support of the organization's mission.

Duties

1. Plans, coordinates, and schedules Workforce Development training events, student classes, instructors, resources, and program administration. 2. Facilitates workforce development training events. Secures classroom space and provides input for announcement of upcoming classes. 3. Represents the Education and Training Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. 4. Serves as alternate for Wright-Patterson's Base Training Focal Point (TFP)

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for Administrative and Management Positions. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band (NH-01) or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience is progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to 1. Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions 2. Plan and organize work 3. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and general experience as outlined above. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the methods, principles, and practices and techniques related to education and training program management and use of training resources; including knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures covering military and/or civilian training and instructional systems design and delivery. 2. Skills in instructional methods, principles, and techniques in order to deliver training courses and assess course effectiveness in meeting identified course objectives and customer needs. 3. Practical knowledge of and skilled in the use of data processing concepts, training scheduling systems, audio-visual software, audio-visual equipment, and related broadcasting and distance learning equipment. 4. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, adjust work operations to meet program requirements, conduct research, summarize results and make appropriate recommendations to leadership. 5. Practical knowledge of the policies, concepts, and practices of the Base Training Focal Point. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing at every leadership level. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
