The incumbent is responsible for supporting the preparation of the U.S. House of Representatives’ annual financial statements for internal and external users.

Qualifications

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA or CPA candidate preferred.Minimum of 5-8 years accounting and automated accounting experience. Extensive experience working with PeopleSoft or other automated financial systems, and Adobe InDesign preferred. Broad knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) regulations, including OMB Circulars and Treasury’s USSGL. Experience in preparing federal financial statements in accordance with OMB A-136 reporting guidelines. Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the House. Ability to work well with others and review the work products of and provide direction to other staff as necessary. Must be able to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines. Must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by senior management.Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
