About the Position: Serves as a Supply technician in a Medical treatment Facility (MTF) or clinic within the Defense Health Agency (DHA)
Duties
Establish operating procedures, order and/or directs the ordering of receives and verifies quality and storage of consumable medical supplies.
Establish revises and cancels stock levels on items based on demand and reviewed by the Chief.
Maintain summary ledger to account for all expenditures.
Maintain files of current supply catalogs makes recommendations for potential cost avoidance.
Coordinates with various vendors to set up training for new equipment and assists in the training process as needed.
Review storage of supplies to reduce shelf life.
Maintain established supply levels and rotates supplies using the Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Travel Required: Up to 5% Business Travel required
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 30 pounds is required

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated logistic systems to track and order non-medical and medical supplies; restocking supply rooms as needed; AND picking up supply orders from various locations.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
