You will serve as a QUALITY OF LIFE & EDUCATION PROGRAM MANAGER within HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will serve as the primary advisor on Quality of Life (QoL) and K-12 education programs, developing solutions to enhance military readiness and family welfare. You will formulate and review policies related to military entitlements, pay allowances, and family benefits, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense directives. You will collaborate with senior leadership, Congressional staff, and external organizations to address legislative impacts to improve military family programs. You will supervise and manage a team to develop and execute education and quality of life initiatives, including monitoring program effectiveness and addressing bottlenecks. You will lead meetings, councils, and workgroups to coordinate efforts among stakeholders providing updates and recommendations to achieve program objectives efficiently.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating experience as a Subject Matter Expert in developing and implementing programs to improve Quality of Life (QoL) and K-12 education for military personnel and their families across multiple regions. 2) Providing expert guidance to leadership on policy formulation, legislative analysis and policy modifications to address entitlement, benefits, and educational requirements for military families. 3) Leading councils and working groups to evaluate and improve QoL initiatives, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, organizational goals, and stakeholder expectations. 4) Developing comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations to support high-level decision making related to military pay, housing allowances, and other entitlements. 5) Managing educational programs and partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations to enhance resources and opportunities for military dependents.
