You will serve as a Protocol Officer in the Protocol Division Headquarters of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
Duties
You will support the visions, goals, objectives, and milestones through proper protocol support and representation commensurate with the level of distinguished visitors
You will plan itineraries, render proper honors, formulate event content, lodging, meals, and transportation
You will handle all protocol matters that require coordination with the White House, DOD, DOS, CJCS, and other unified commands.
You will develop and implement proactive protocol and distinguished visitor protocols that support command and DOD goals and objectives
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Developing and managing protocol and distinguished visitor programs; 2) Leading protocol operations at a unified or combatant command (or equivalent) major government or corporate organization; 3) Managing Official/Corporate Representation Funds (ORF); 4) Leading and supervising protocol personnel
