You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Assistant Secretary of Navy (M&RA), Manpower, Analytics and Human Resources Systems (MAHRS) directorate, WASHINGTON DC..
Duties
You will plan and coordinate allocation of branch resources, including technical, IT investment planning, budgeting and administrative support.
You will evaluate new systems engineering technologies and their effect on the operating environment.
You will ensure that information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the operating environment.
You will recommend new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
You will administer, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of authentication software or new security authentication technologies such as public key infrastructure certificates, secure cards, and biometrics.
You will install new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software.
You will endure and manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, integrity, efficiency and recoverability.
You will present updated plans to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for review and approval.
You will provide analysis and documentation of hardware and/or software specifications and requirements in support of (a) new applications for implementation or (b) migration of retired equipment to new hardware.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101
- Cyber Security Certification (I.e., Network+, Security+ (or equivalent or higher).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing oversight of hardware and software systems (installation, testing, operation, security, troubleshooting, etc.)
Experience administering and monitoring the implementation of authentication software or new security technologies (public key infrastructures certificates, secure cards, biometrics, etc.)
Experience implementing system security procedures, tools, and policies (firewalls, host and client access, filer permissions, user accounts, etc.)
