Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Budget Division will allow you to utilize your knowledge of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other methods and techniques to forecast requirements and propose alternative means and resource options to a achieve a strategic end state of process.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a/an Financial Program Analystin the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Typical work assignments include:
Providing expertise financial program analysis in the budgeting and execution processes for USSS programs.
Coordinating with the department of homeland security ( DHS), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and senior managers on a range of financial related issues.
Overseeing the design collection analysis, and submission of reports required for the preparation of budget submissions.
Collaborating with the Secret Service and DHS managers in developing new policies to formulate new and innovative approaches to improving budgetary requirements, documentation and processes.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $142,488.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Utilizing statistical data tools such as excel, tableau or power BI to analyze financial datasets;
Composing budget justifications to provide details and support for all financial requests; and
Utilizing a budget process (i.e. identify strategic goals, identify base budget requirements to formulate the budget, draft the budget, present the budget, then execute the budget) to accurately plan and prepare finances for specific timeframes.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
