About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Plans and Training Specialist for ACS, G 3/5/7, HQ US ARMY SOUTH in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Serve as a Plans Specialist responsible for leading or supporting the overall planning of (JCS) Joint Chief of Staff and Army directed exercises with particular emphasis on engineer and environmental matters.
Responsible for leading and directing a series of conferences during the planning phase of exercises with representatives of executing agencies.
Serve as the Command Program Manager for the Digital Training Management System (DTMS) and Ammunition Requirements.
Coordinate training and organizational exercises.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a Security Clearance at the SECRET level, as the individual will be required to access, process, utilize and safeguard classified National Defense information.
- Position requires travel up to 40% of the time. Occasionally for extended periods.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain an Official US Passport.
- Requires local, long distance, and overseas traveling to events such as (but not limited to) site assistance visits (SAVs) conferences, meetings, conduct training/ briefings, training opportunities, etc.
- Overseas locations include Central and South America, and the Caribbean which might require specific immunizations and training/certification IAW US Army South and Department of the Army Personnel Recovery policies.
- Incumbent must comply with DoD Foreign Clearance Guide, US Southern Command, US Army South, JTFs, and US MILGRP requirements for entry into and operations in country while on TDY and/or deployed or TDY.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Validate fund availability to prepare the organizational budget; 2). Monitor ammunition and expenditures to align organizational requirements; and 3). Train personnel to operate ammunition management information systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
